SRINAGAR: The Government has blocked 242 illegal betting and gambling website links as part of its ongoing crackdown on unauthorised online gaming platforms.
According to the sources, a total of more than 7,800 illegal betting and gambling websites have been taken down so far, with enforcement action intensifying after the passage of the Online Gaming Act.
Officials said the latest move reflects the Government’s commitment to safeguarding users, particularly young people, and to preventing the financial and social harm associated with illegal online betting and gambling activities.
The authorities have stepped up monitoring of digital platforms and coordination with internet service providers to identify and block unlawful operations.
Sources added that further action will continue against platforms found violating the law.
