SRINAGAR: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has directed all officers and officials posted in Srinagar and Jammu to attend the main Independence Day celebrations on August 15, 2025. The events will be held at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar and Maulana Azad Stadium in Jammu.
In a circular issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), the government emphasized that Independence Day is a major national occasion, and participation in the celebrations is a duty for all government employees.
“All officers, officials based in Srinagar or Jammu are required to attend the main Independence Day function as part of their official responsibilities. Absence will only be allowed with prior approval from the immediate superior,” the circular reads.
Administrative Secretaries, Heads of Departments, and Managing Directors of Public Sector Undertakings, Corporations, and Boards have been instructed to ensure full attendance and strict compliance among their subordinates.
