SRINAGAR: A government employee from the irrigation department lost consciousness while on duty and passed away on Sunday.
Quoting an official, Kashmir Scroll reported that one person, namely Abdul Ahad Wani, son of Abdul Razak Wani, resident of Harwan and employed in the irrigation department, fell unconscious while on duty at Wangund Tailbal.
He said that locals rushed him to a nearby hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
According to locals, he suffered a heart attack. His body has been taken to his home at Sheikh Mohalla, Harwan.
Meanwhile, the police have taken cognizance and started an investigation. (KS)
