SRINAGAR

While hinting at possible formation of new government in the state, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti Tuesday said “it will take some more time to think about the possible formations that will suit the agenda of PDP” for the creation of new government in the state.

Mehbooba, who thanked people for the mandate, termed the mandate as “indecisive” and refused to cobble up other partners “just for the sake of arithmetic.” Addressing a press conference in Srinagar, Mehbooba said, “We are in the process of exploiting few possibilities that will suit PDP’s agenda and will be in favour of people.”

She also said that the number of seats won by her party was “unexpected”.

As the election results were declared, PDP has emerged as the single largest party with 28 seats.

Mehbooba also thanked election commission of India, state government administration and police for “free and fair” conduct of elections in the state.
