Mirwaiz-Umar-FarooqHurriyat Conference (m) Chairperson, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who has been under house arrest for the past two days, Saturday condemned the re-arrest of Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front Chairperson, Muhammad Yasin Malik besides “insulting behavior and atrocities of police” towards him, a statement issued by the amalgam here read.

Stressing that the PDP and BJP coalition government in the state had been frustrated by the united voice of resistance leadership of Kashmir  against its anti-Kashmir policies, Mirwaiz said the government was now indulging in “inhuman and undemocratic” behavior.

Terming raids conducted on Malik’s residence, ransacking of his belongings, harassment of his family members and atrocities on the people of Maisuma besides imposing strict curfew in the area as inhuman and immoral, Mirwaiz said this proves the frustration and desperation of the ruling class.

Stating that the house arrests and detentions of the resistance leaders, curbs on their movement and ban on their activities would not be able to break their resolve, Mirwaiz said the state government was itself using excessive force and violence against the resistance leadership and freedom-loving people of Kashmir and creating an environment where peace becomes surreal.

Meanwhile, condemning the house arrest and detentions of the conglomerate’s Chairperson, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Mukthar Ahmad Waza, Advocate Shahid-ul-Islam and Engineer Hilal Ahmad War, a Hurriyat (m) spokesperson termed the aggressive polices of the state government towards the resistance leadership as undemocratic and immoral.

The spokesperson also condemned the raids and ransacking of the residence of Engineer Hilal
