Deputy Commissioner, Baramulla Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmad Shah Wednesday visited Shrakwara Water Supply Scheme yesterday and took stock of damage due to landslide.

According to an official statement, the DC was accompanied by Officers of various departments, Engineers of PHE, R&B Flood Control and Irrigation departments.

“The Deputy Commissioner inspected the damaged pipe lines of the Water Supply Scheme Shrakwara and issued directions to the PHE Engineers for immediate restoration so that people do not suffer more for want of drinking water.

On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner was informed that 75 percent population of Sopore Tehsil were provided drinking water from the said water supply scheme,” the statement said.

The Deputy Commissioner also took comprehensive review of the landslide situation at Shrakwara and Wagoora nallah. He said that administration is fully prepared to combat any eventuality, the statement added.
