Goa Governor Satya Pal Malik on Sunday said the governors in the country have not much work to do and that of Jammu and Kashmir “drinks wine and plays golf.”
Speaking at a public gathering in Uttar Pradesh’s Baghpat, which is also his ancestral place, Malik said: “The Governor has no work to do. A person who is the Governor of Kashmir usually drinks wine and plays golf. Governors of other states stay away from getting involved in any tussle.”

Malik served as the Governor of undivided Jammu and Kashmir and supervised the situation in the run-up to the abrogation of Article 370 and the lockdown that followed.
The regional political parties accused Malik of misleading the public over the revocation of J&K’s special status. Ahead of August 5, when the Centre imposed a strict lockdown, Malik remained tight-lipped over the unprecedented deployment of paramilitary forces and the speculations that were going around then, reported ANI.
