NN Vohra, Governor, visited the site of the under-construction Tehzeeb Mahal and was briefed about the salient features of this multi-facility centre being built to showcase the State’s rich cultural heritage, here Friday. He viewed the detailed drawings of the project and the facilities to be created at the upcoming Tehzeeb Mahal.  Governor being briefed about upcoming Tehzeeb Mahal Project-20 (1)

As per a statement the Governor was briefed by the engineers of the Jammu and Kashmir Projects Construction Corporation, the executing agency of this Project, about the salient features of Tehzeeb Mahal. The J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages is the Project Authority for Tehzeeb Mahal. The Governor, who is Patron of the Cultural Academy, was informed that this complex is expected to be completed by April, 2016.

The Governor was further briefed that this multi-storey complex with a built up area of 1,19,899 sft will, interalia, have an auditorium for 600 persons, a seminar hall with a capacity of 100 seats, cafeteria with utilities, coffee shop, administrative hall, book shop, log bridge and toilets for differently-abled persons on the ground floor. On the first floor of the complex there will be an art gallery, handicrafts display hall, music studio, art studio and other utilities, while on the second floor will be exhibition hall, conservation laboratory, library and heritage museum. As far as semi-basement of this complex is concerned, it will have the facilities like parking, services, inmates theatre, dormitory and storage.
