SRINAGAR

Describing the Governor’s address as clueless about vital issues, the CPI (M) State Secretary and MLA Kulgam, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami Wednesday said it is merely repetition of the Alliance Agenda and having no mention of restoration of Article 370 to its original position, no categorical commitment for the withdrawal of Disturbed Areas Act and APSPA. Other important issues have also not been reflected.

Tarigami regretted that there is no mention of fixed time frame for the rehabilitation of the flood victims of the state and waiving off KCC loans of farmers and orchardists who suffered huge losses due to devastating floods.

He regretted that the government remained silent about concrete measures to be taken to deal with alarming unemployment problem, the payment of wages to thousands of DRWs/Casual labaorers/need based/CPWs/seasonal labourers working in various departments in the state, enhancing the minimum wages to Rs.15000/-  in favour of the workforce in the state, releasing of 17% DA due for more than a year to state government employees and pensioners, releasing of honorarium of Rs.1000/- per month  due from April 2014 in favour of ASHAs, enhancing  of state share in the honorarium of Anganwadi Workers and helpers, enhancement of honorarium of SPOs and their regularization.  He also said that there is no mention of concrete measures devised for strengthening the anti-graft institutions in order to eradicate the menace of corruption and weeding out corrupt elements in the administration.

The CPI(M) leader said that there is no mention of providing of 35 kg of ration @Rs.2/- per kg per month for each family despite the fact that the resolution in this connection was passed unanimously in the 2014 Autumn Session of the House at Srinagar

He also expressed his dismay over the silence regarding erratic power supply in the state particularly in remote areas
