In wake of upcoming Amarnath Yatra, department of Education has put ban on excursion of students to two prime picnic spots, Pahalgam and Sonamarg.
According to Joint Director School Education, Kashmir, in view of the ensuing Amarnath Yatra, the heads of Government and Private Educational Institutions are put to strict instructions that they should desist from sending the students on excursion and picnic to Pahalgam and Sonamarg.
He said that in respect of other picnic spots, prior permission needs to be obtained from concerned Zonal Education Officer and Chief Education Officer in case of the Elementary schools and in respect of High and Higher Secondary Schools.
“This should be ensured by the head of the Institutions both Government and Private that the excursion and picnics are conducted carefully, leaving no room for any misdemeanor and safe pick-up and return of students,” read the official statement.
He further said that violation of instruction shall be viewed seriously.
