Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Sopore Wednesday organized a Road Race for students from High School Seelu to BHSS Sopore.
The race commenced from Seelu at 5:45 am and was flagged off by Superintendent of Police Sopore Harmeet Singh and Hanifa Qureshi Principal BHSS Sopore in the presence of the staff members of the school.
The race concluded successfully at the school gate at 7:30 am. The event was followed by an Award Distribution Ceremony held in which an august gathering of dignitaries gave away the prizes to the students.
Prof Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, Principal Govt Boys Degree College Sopore was the Chief Guest of the occasion. Suriya Jabeen, Principal GHSS Sopore, Prof Ab Rashid Dar GDC Sopore, BMO Sopore and SDPO Sopore graced the occasion.
The 1st, 2nd & 3rd prizes were bagged by Muzamil Akbar, Irfan Magray & Anayatullah Jabbar respectively.
The function concluded with a vote of thanks to the guests and a word of appreciation and encouragement to the students by the Principal BHSS Sopore. She was all praise for the contribution made by the Physical Education Department of the Institution by promoting non-cognitive skills for the all-round development of the students.
