SRINAGAR: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Sakeena Itoo, informed the Legislative Assembly today that the government will explore the feasibility of establishing a General Hospital in the existing building of GB Pant Hospital, Sonawar.
Responding to a question raised by MLA Ahsan Pardesi, the Minister stated that the Pediatric Hospital at Sonawar was shifted to Bemina on September 26, 2022. At present, the Government Chest Diseases Hospital, Srinagar, is operating a Pulmonary OPD in the Old GB Pant Hospital, Sonawar, offering basic diagnostic facilities, including Bio-Chemistry Investigations, ECG, and Chest X-ray, with CT scans conducted once a week.
She further informed the House that within the same locality, Kashmir Nursing Home, Sonawar, continues to provide OPD services, catering to the healthcare needs of the local population.
