PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, who is set to become the first woman chief minister of the Jammu and Kashmir Thursday said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has “assured her of all help for the development of the state”.
Mehbooba while addressing the legislators and MPs during the legislative party meeting at Fairview residence said that during her meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP president Amit Shah, she was assured of “all help” for the development of the Jammu and Kashmir state.
A PDP legislator said that the party president briefed the MLAs and MPs about the process of consultations she had had with the BJP leadership.
“Mehbooba ji briefed us about her meetings with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah while the re-negotiations were going on for the continuance of the alliance,” the legislator said.
The PDP president in her speech has reprimanded some former ministers against whom there were complaints.
“I will ensure that the next government will see ministers who have clean image and deliver for the welfare of the people. And now it is the responsibility of the PDP and the would-be ministers to work for the people of the state who have reposed their trust on us,” another PDP legislator, who attended the meeting, quoted her as saying in her speech.
