SRINAGAR: The Director General of Accounts and Treasuries, Jammu and Kashmir, has instructed Treasury Officers and Account Rendering Units to submit monthly accounts to the Principal Accountant General by the 5th of the following month.
This directive follows advice from the Ministry of Finance, Government of India, to the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, calling for the compilation and submission of monthly Civil Accounts to State/UT Governments within seven days after the close of each month.
Treasury officers have been instructed to ensure timely submission to facilitate the compilation of Civil Accounts by the Principal Accountant General within the prescribed timelines.
