Govt to Expedite Forest Clearance for Speedy Execution of Road Projects in Jammu Kashmir: Dy CM

   

SRINAGAR: Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Wednesday announced that the Jammu and Kashmir government will expedite forest clearance to ensure the speedy execution of road projects across the Union Territory.

He said cases will be coordinated with the concerned agencies to enable hassle-free work on the road network. The Deputy Chief Minister also stated that the cost of PMGSY-IV construction projects in JK is shared, with 90 per cent funded by the Centre and 10 per cent by the Union Territory.

Responding to a question from Legislator Payare Lal Sharma in the Legislative Assembly, Choudhary added that the UT government is responsible for providing hindrance-free and encumbrance-free land for PMGSY-IV projects, including compensation for land acquisition. Supplementary questions on the subject were raised by Legislators Nazir Ahmad Khan and Balwant Singh Mankotia.
