Govt to sought list of corrupt officials from vigilance organization

The Jammu and Kashmir government led by Chief Minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed is all set to shot a letter to State vigilance organization, to prepare a comprehensive list of officers who were involved in ‘corrupt practices’ or have been rendered as ‘dead wood’ to summarily dismiss them from services or suggest other kind of action, whose offence in corruption was minor.

One of the cabinet minister of PDP-BJP government wished anonymity told KNS that government within next couple of days will dispatch letter to the Vigilance organization for preparing the list of corrupt officials. “The vigilance organization will also be asked to submit it to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat for scrutiny followed by action,” the minister claimed.

He also said that the instructions have also been forwarded to all the commissioner secretaries to submit the list of HOD’s, Directors, MD’s, KAS officers and including other tainted officer against whom many corruption charges have been leveled for taking immediate action against them by the Government,” he said.

He said that government has also taken a decision that that officers having good integrity will be given important assignment involving public dealing whereas officers of doubtful integrity will not be posted to any sensitive assignment or those having public dealing, the sources said.

Sources said that the action could include dismissal from services of the officers, who have completed their stipulated tenure in services and disciplinary action against the officers, who were yet to complete 20 years of service.

Meanwhile sources told KNS that all the cabinet ministers have issued directives to their secretaries to prepare lists of officers of doubtful integrity and undesirable officials in the department to root out Corruption.

Rural Development minister Abdul Haq Khan told KNS that the government will not bear the corrupt officials. ‘There are reports that many officials are involved in the practices of corruption, the government will pay special attention towards removing corruption from all the departments by adopting a two-pronged strategy-process, re-engineering,”.

Meanwhile sources also told KNS that the government has decided that all the transfers and postings will now be governed by the proper transfer policy. “The government rules will be followed strictly while preparing the transfer policy under which officers of impeccable integrity and those known for efficiency (honest and efficient) would be given the most sensitive or important postings,” sources said.
