SRINAGAR

Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) president and MLA Langate Er Rashid Saturday visited HMT Srinagar to offer his condolences to the family of Late Gowhar Nazir Dar who was killed in forces action the day PM Narendra Modi visited Kashmir.

Paying tributes to Gowhar, Rashid condemned government for its “failure to arrest the killers and alleged that forces have made life of youth of the locality a hell, who have been genuinely protesting against the killing”.

Rashid said, “government has to explain if it can ruin the career of hundreds of youth allegedly involved in stone pelting, why it can’t identify the killers of Gowhar and take them to task. If police doesn’t often take much time in claiming to have identified and killed those behind attacks on forces, how come is it possible that it could not find out the black sheep and killers in its own ranks. CRPF and police seem to be blaming each other for Gowhar’s killing as a part of their well drafted plan to cover the killing.”

He further added, “neither peace can be achieved by killing youth nor can be Kashmiris terrorised and forced to give up their demand for peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute.”

Rashid asked government to remove the CRPF camp without further excuses as the demand being projected by the inhabitants of the area is genuine beyond doubt.
