Suspected militants on Thursday evening lobbed a grenade towards a paramilitary CRPF camp at Safakadal area of Srinagar city.
Police sources said that the militants hurled a grenade on 161 bn CRPF camp at Braripora, Safakdal. However, the device missed the target and exploded outside the sentry post along the roadside.
In blast five vehicles including two Maruti cars bearing registration numbers Jk01J 8273 and JK13 8853, one winger Jk01S 0328 and two matador buses bearing registration numbers Jk01C 4374 and Jk04 1289 suffered damage, official sources said.
There was no injury to any person in the incident, they said.
They said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in this regard and further investigations initiated.
