A hand grenade was lobbed on army in Imam Sahab, village of the Shopian district Thursday afternoon resulting in minor injuries to one army man.
Locals told Kashmir Life, that an army petrol party belonging to 62 RR was targeted by a hand grenade near Jammu and Kashmir Bank branch Imam Sahab.
They added that the grenade exploded with a bang after missing the target.
However, Shopian police suspects that it was not a hand grenade. “We are investigating the matter and trying to know that was it a hand grenade or just a fire cracker to spread panic,” a police official told KL.
Locals on the other hand said that they saw an army man in an injured state though not seriously.
