A minor girl died while five others were injured in a scuffle between two groups in Gund area of Ganderbal District last evening.
“A scuffle took place between Bakerwal Parties at Parthen Nali Nodi (Bahak) Rayil Nad, Gund,” a police statement said Tuesday.
“During the scuffle a minor girl, Masmona, daughter of Mohammad Mukhtar died while five others were injured,” it said. Police have registered a case in this regard and investigation has been taken up.
The statement further said that two persons died while two others were injured in different road accidents in the valley.
A load carrier bearing registration number JK01U/5613 hit and injured a pedestrian Mohammad Altaf Dar son of Ghulam Hassan Dar resident of Shiganpora at Shiganpora Nowgam, Bandipora. The injured succumbed to his injuries while on way to hospital.
A Tipper bearing registration number JK09-8284 collided with an Alto car bearing registration number Jk09A-2583 on National Highway near Bumhama, Kupwara, resulting in on spot death of a lady Noor Jahan wife of Siraj Din resident of Rayala Tangdar at present Goos Kupwara and injuries to Siraj Din Badan son of Noor Din Badana. The injured was shifted to District Hospital Kupwara for treatment.
A Wagon-R bearing registration number JK13B/8349 hit and injured a girl Tabasum resident of Balhama at Balham Panthachowk, Srinagar. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment.
