Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly on Friday passed the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Bill by voice vote amid walk-out by Congress lawmakers.

Principal opposition, National Conference had earlier said that they will boycott the rest of the session.

Speaker Kavinder Gupta immediately after the Bill was passed announced that the House has been adjourned sine-die.

Now the Legislative Council (LC) is meeting in the afternoon to pass the GST Bill.

Special four-day session was called by the Speaker and chairman of LC to discuss and implementation of GST in the state. Both the Houses later passed Resolution on GST before Cabinet approved it and sent it (Resolution) to Government of India (GoI) for Presidential assent.
