Police on Saturday arrested the chairperson of Kashmir Economic Alliance (KEA) chairperson Muhammad Yasin Khan after he was on way to the civil secretariat in Srinagar to protest against the implementation of GST in JK.
A spokesperson of KEA said that Khan along with dozens of business community members were bundled by police near ‘Ganta Ghar‘ and taken to Kothi Bagh police station.
Earlier, Khan addressed a presser in Lal Chowk Srinagar pledging that the business community of Kashmir will not allow the government to implement the GST. “Government is in a process of surrendering the fiscal autonomy of the state,” Khan said.
Pertinently the business community of Kashmir valley is observing a complete shutdown against the government decision to implement GST. The shutdown was called by KEA, KTMF, also headed by Khan and several other business organisations of the valley.
