A guard room outside residential quarter of a senior police officer at Tulsibagh Srinagar caught fire on Wednesday night.
Official sources said that fire erupted from the guard room, housing SSB men, and flames could be seen from a distance, thus creating panic in the VIP area.
A police official while confirming the incident said that fire tenders have reached the spot and presently flames are being extinguished.
Regarding the cause of the fire, he said that it will be ascertained once the flames are brought to control, and regarding the safety of weapons, he said that nothing can be said at present. (GNS)
