SRINAGAR: Kashmir reeled under the cold wave with minimum temperatures below freezing point on Friday even as the Meteorological department predicted dry weather till February 13.

“Night temperatures are likely to drop further in the coming days as the weather is likely to remain dry till February 13,” MeT officials told Kashmir Life.

Gulmarg in north Kashmir the famous tourist place was the coldest place in the Valley where minimum temperature was minus 10.2 degrees.

Srinagar, the summer capital of the state recorded a low of minus 2.2 while the mercury in Qazigund in south Kashmir settled at a low of minus 3.3 degrees Celsius.

The night temperature in Pahalgam –settled at a low of minus 9.4 degrees.

Kokernag town recorded a low of minus 3.6 degrees Celsius while Kupwara town in north Kashmir registered a low of minus 3.9 degrees Celsius last night.

Jammu city recorded 5.3 degrees Celsius, Katra 7.0, Batote 1.6, Banihal recorded 2.8 and Bhaderwah recorded minus 1.2 degrees Celsius as the night’s lowest temperatures.
