SRINAGAR: In response to growing demand from the Travel and Tourism (T&T) sector, the J&K Cable Car Corporation (JKCCC) has introduced several new measures to enhance the Gulmarg Gondola experience for both domestic and international tourists.
Starting December 18, 2024, the revamped online Tatkal Ticket Facility will be available on the official JKCCC website, www.jammukashmircablecar.com.
The online Tatkal tickets will be released every day at 5:00 PM for the following day, with tickets issued subject to Tatkal charges. This initiative aims to streamline the booking process and address the high demand for Gondola rides.
Additionally, access to the main gate of the Gulmarg Gondola Project will now be tightly regulated. Tourists will be required to present valid ID proof matching the details on their ticket to ensure a smooth and secure entry.
To better accommodate international visitors, the JKCCC has introduced a special booking system for foreign tourists. Travel agencies are required to send the details of foreign tourists—including full names and passport numbers—at least two days prior to their visit, to the official email address: cablecar@rediffmail.com, along with a covering letter from the agency.
These measures are part of a broader effort to enhance the tourist experience while curbing black marketing and other malpractices related to Gondola ticketing, aligning with the government’s commitment to better serve incoming visitors.
