SRINAGAR: The death toll in the Gulmarg militant attack has risen to five after an injured soldier succumbed to his injuries on Friday afternoon.
An official said that the soldier, who had been injured in the militant attack at Botapathri in Baramulla district, passed away in the hospital, where he was undergoing treatment.
Earlier, four people, including two porters and two Army soldiers, were killed in the attack, prompting security forces to intensify search operations in the area to locate the attackers.
Meanwhile, the Chinar Corps of the Indian Army expressed solidarity and condolences with the bereaved families. “All ranks of the Chinar Corps salute the supreme sacrifices of the bravehearts who laid down their lives in the line of duty,” read a post on X.
The Chinar Corps further saluted their immense valour and sacrifice, expressing deepest condolences and standing in solidarity with the bereaved families, the post added. (KNO)
