SRINAGAR: Indian Army in collaboration with GDA, J&K Tourism and the Gulmarg Hotel Association is conducting the “Amrit Joyti Gulmarg Winter Festival – 2022” from March 4 to March 6, 2022.
According to the statement, this year’s Festival is aligned with ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations that commemorates 75 Years of Independence.
The event kickstarted today with the lightning of ‘IsbandSoz’ by General Officer Commanding ‘Daggar Division’ followed by performances by renowned local artists to include performances by ‘D Alive Dancer Group’ and Umar Rock Band’.
The breathtaking stunts by a team of the highly acclaimed ‘High Altitude Warfare School’ (HAWS) were the show stopper today. The snow cycle race & sledge race were a treat to watch in which competitors left no stone unturned to win the races.
There was a huge rush at Gulmarg as locals including students from schools, colleges and NCC cadets turned out in huge numbers along with tourists, reads the statement.
