Gunfight Breaks Out In North Kashmir

SRINAGAR: A gunfight broke out between militants and counterinsurgent forces in Watrina village in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Sunday morning.

Reports said that a joint team of Army, CRPF and Jammu, and Kashmir police launched a cordon and search operation in Watrina area of Bandipora after having credible inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon forces triggering an encounter.

When the last reports came intermittent firing was going on.
