SRINAGAR: A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Parigam area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Thursday.
Reports said that a joint team of Army and SOG Pulwama launched a cordon and search operation in Parigam village after having credible inputs about the presence of some militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon forces triggering an encounter.
When last reports came intermittent firing was going on.
