SRINAGAR: A gunfight broke out between militants and counterinsurgent forces in forest area of Nagberan in Tral town of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.
Reports said that a joint team of Army, CRPF and Jammu, and Kashmir police launched a cordon and search operation in forest area of Tral after having credible inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon forces triggering an encounter.
When the last reports came intermittent firing was going on.
