Gunfight broke out between militants and counter- insurgent forces in Bujtalan village of Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday morning.
Reports said that a joint team of army’s 6 JAKLI, SOG of Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF launched cordon and search operation in Bujtalan village after having credible input about the presence of some militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces intensified searches hiding militants fired upon government forces triggering an encounter.
When last reports came in exchange of firing was going on.
