Gunfight erupted in Chandergeer, Jamia Mohalla area of Hajin town in northern part of Kashmir’s Bandipora district, reports said.
Official sources said that a Joint team of Army’s 13 RR, SOG and CRPf launched an cordon and search operation following specific inputs about presence of some militants at Chandergeer in Hajin.
As such the joint team of forces intensified the combing operation, the hiding militants opened fire upon them triggering of an encounter. When reports last came in the intermittent exchange of firing was going on.
