SRINAGAR: A gunfight broke out on Sunday evening between security forces and militants in the Gujjar Pati area of Zaloora in North Kashmir’s Sopore, officials said.
According to officials, a joint team comprising the Police, Army, and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in the area following specific intelligence inputs about the presence of militants.
“As the joint security forces approached the suspected location, the hiding militants opened fire. The forces retaliated, leading to a gunfight,” an official stated.
At the time of this report, intermittent exchanges of fire were ongoing.
