A gunfight rages between militants and government forces in Chadoora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday.
Reports said that a joint team of army and police launched cordon and search operation in Gopal Pora Chadoora after having specific input about the presence of militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached towards suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon government forces triggering an encounter brief exchange of firing.
A senior Police official said that some exchange of firing has taken place in Chadoora
“Right now no fresh exchange of firing is taking place, but we have tightened the cordon so that militants don’t escape,” the officer said.
