A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Turigam village of Yaripora in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday.
Reports said that a joint team of army, CRPF, and SOG cordoned off Turigam area of Yaripora after having credible input about the presence of some militants.
While the forces intensified searches towards the suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon government forces triggering a gunfight.
While confirming the news police wrote on Twitter, “Exchange of fire at Turigam #Kulgam. Security forces on job. Details will follow.”
