A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Reban area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday early morning.
Reports said that a joint team of Army, CRPF and Police launched a cordon and search operation in Reban village after having credible inputs about the presence of some militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon forces triggering an encounter.
When last reports came intermittent firing was going on.
