Gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Hathlangoo village of north Kashmir’s Sopore village on Saturday.
Reports said that a joint team of Army’s 22 RR, special operation group of police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Hathlangoo village of Sopore on Thursday morning.
An official said that as the forces intensified searches towards suspected spot the hiding militants fired upon government forces triggering an encounter.
When last reports came intermittent firing was going on.
Meanwhile, mobile internet service was suspended in north Kashmir’s Sopore.
