A gunfight broke out between militants and the counter-insurgent forces in Shaar Shali area of Khrew area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday.
Reports said the gunfight broke out after a joint team of army, Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Shaar Shali area in Khrew Pampore.
They said the hiding militants, opened fire on the forces when they were challenged, triggering a heavy exchange of fire.
