SRINAGAR: A gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Brantal area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Tuesday late night.
Reports said that a joint team of Army and SOG launched a cordon and search operation in Brantal village after having credible inputs about the presence of some militants in the area.
As the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon forces triggering an encounter.
When last reports came intermittent firing was going on.
This is the second encounter in the last 12 hours in south Kashmir.
