Soon after army cordoned off Madwan area of Hajin in Bandipora district of the northern part of Kashmir Thursday morning, gunshots were heard in the area.
Officials said that army fired speculative shots during a cordon and search operation in Madwan village.
He said the area was cordoned off after specific input about the presence of four militants in the area.
Local sources said that army men tightened the cordon of area after firing few shots and started search operation.
