Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chairperson, Muhammad Yasin Malik was Monday arrested by police from his Abi Guzar office, sources said.

Malik has been detained in Police Station Kothi Bagh.

Meanwhile, paying glowing tributes to Mohammad Maqbool Bhat and Mohammad Afzal Guru on their martyrdom anniversaries JKLF (h) Chairperson appealed people to observe complete strike on February 9 and 11 so as to press for the return of the mortal remains of the two Kashmiri leaders who are buried in Tihar Jail premises.

“The goal for which the Bhat and Guru and other countless people have laid their lives would remain unachieved unless Kashmir dispute was settled in accordance with the aspirations and wishes of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Mir said.

“Sacrifices of these two martyrs are a priceless asset with the Kashmiris, which would continue to influence the future generations to take the missions of martyrs forward till it reaches its goal,” he said

Reiterating the demand of return of mortals of Guru and Bhat, Javaid Mir said it is time that international community plays its role for the resolution of Kashmir issue.

Stressing that “New Delhi is holding Kashmir by means of military might”, he said, “The country was also using black laws, wide spread repression, and employing all inhuman tactics to suppress the voice of Kashmiris.”
