Residents told that the authorities are playing hide and seek with us as construction and widening of Chappergund to Gutlibagh road in Ganderbal district is still incomplete and is in shambles from several years.

A local resident, Abdul Hameed, claimed that the concerned authorities have failed to macadamize and widening of the road as they were lying in dilapidated condition from past few years.

He said the bad condition of roads become a nuisance, especially during rains.

A road from Chappergund to Gutlibagh is in bad condition and administration is sleeping, Said a resident Adil Ahmad.

He said that the roads are badly damaged that rainfall leaves no way for us to walk on as long strips of numerous roads turn into heaps of mud, adding that “the dilapidated road poses a risk of accidents and gets waterlogged after every rainfall.”

The commuters of Gutlibagh are having a tough time as the roads and buildings R&B department has failed to carry out necessary repair of the roads.

According to locals, even after protesting time and again there were no initiatives taken by the concerned authorities.

“Next day after we had a protest demonstration, minister of public works R&B,  Naeem Akhter visited the area to take stock of the depilated road but since then we are waiting and nothing has happened till now,” said a local resident

Locals have also requested the district administration to look into their grievances and take necessary steps so that they won’t suffer anymore.
