The Hajin encounter which started early Sunday morning has been called off, police sources said.
The militants who engaged joint group of army and SOG of police in a gunfight are believed to have successfully fled from the spot.
The sources said the militants were top commanders of LeT.
As earlier reported about the death of militants, the sources said that was based on the input about their presence. “As firing stopped, we thought they have been neutralized,” a senior police official said.
There were massive clashes in the area, which officials claim helped militants to manage their exit. There are reports of injuries as well.
In the gunfight, Special Operation Group of police lost one man, Zaheer Abbas, a resident of Poonch, while other is critically injured.
