SRINAGAR: Massive cracks have appeared on a road along the Jhelum River in Hajin town of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district, causing panic among locals.
Residents said that cracks had been developing over the past few days, but the damage worsened significantly today with fresh fissures.
Locals expressed concern that if the cracks expand further, a major tragedy could occur, as the road runs alongside the river. They urged the administration to take immediate action to prevent further deterioration.
An official said a team has been dispatched to assess the situation, and necessary steps will be taken accordingly. He added that public movement near the affected area will be restricted. (KNO)
