The employees working in Handloom Development Corporation (HDC) Ltd are without salaries for the past three months.
The employees on Saturday said that they are made to run from pillar to post to seek redressal of “legitimate” grievances but to no avail.
HDC Ltd, a promotional Public Sector enterprise, is solely responsible for development of handloom sector and its commercial activities restricted to clearance of stocks of handloom products woven by the weavers in decentralized sector to ensure smooth and hassle free work to weavers scattered in far flung areas for their economic development.
The Task force committee appointed by state government identified the Corporation as promotional and public sector enterprise which entails HDC Ltd for generous budgetary subventions to meet its needs of salary for staff.
“As against projected demand of Rs 9.50 Crore, the Corporation is only getting Rs 2.50 crore,” the aggrieved employees said.
The corporation employees appealed Chief Minister Ms Mehbooba Mufti to come to their rescue in view of the Eid festival.
