SRINAGAR: LeT commander Naseer ud Din Lone, a resident of Gund Brath area of Sopore was among two militants who were killed in an encounter at Ganipora Kralgund area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Wednesday late night.
The police spokesman quoted Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone, Vijay Kumar as having said that LeT commander Naseer-u-din involved in killing of 3 CRPF troopers at Sopore on April 18,2020 and 3 CRPF men at Handwara on May 4,2020 have been killed along with another militant in Ganipora encounter.

Earlier, Srinagar based army spokesman Colonel Rajesh Kalia said that joint operation was launched today late evening in the orchards of Ganipora Handwara. “Cordon was laid and contact established. Firefight ensued. Two militants were killed in the gunfight, Joint operation in progress,” he said.
