Protests broke out on Tuesday in north Kashmir’s Langate area of Kupwara district against the killing of two militants in Galoora Kupwara.

Reports said that protests were witnessed soon after the news of the killing of a local militant spread in the area. Scores of the people from Galoora and its adjoining areas hit the streets and staged a protest.

Earlier, two militants of Lashkar-e- Toiba outfit identified as Liyaqat Ahmad a resident of Harwan Sopore and Furkaan, 18yr from Langate Handwara, were killed during a gunfight in Galoora Langate after the army’s 30 RR, 92 bn CRPF, and SOG launched a cordon and search operation.
