The authorities have snapped mobile internet services in parts of North Kashmir following killing of four civilians.

Reports reaching here from Kupwara and Baramulla said that mobile internet services have been stopped, however, broadband services are intact.

A high level meeting of security establishment took place in Srinagar late Wednesday evening, sources said, the decision to snap mobile internet services was taken there.

Four civilians, including an elderly woman, have been shot dead by forces following protests over an alleged molestation bid by an army man in Handwara town.

Authorities have been snapping mobile internet services in Kashmir whenever there are law and order issues. It was on Eid-Ul-Azha 2015 that mobile internet services were stopped after public cry over ban on beef in Kashmir.
