“Haqeeqat-e-Kashmir” (Reality of Kashmir) which emerged as a parallel music show to Zubin Mehta concert is all set to launch songs album on 21 September here in Srinagar as a tribute to parliament attack convict Muhammad Afzal Guru who was hanged in Tihar jail.

Talking about the launch of album, Khuram Parvez, member of Haqeeqat-e-Kashmir told GNS that the album would be a tribute to Afzal Guru from Kashmiri nation. “We want upcoming generations to get inspired from him.”

The album titled “A Tribute to Afzal Guru” will contain eight songs out of which two songs have been composed in Kashmiri language and six are recorded in Urdu language.

“Afzal is a martyr who will be remembered for years to come. They were in delusion that Kashmiris will forget Afzal Guru after he was hanged. He was murdered in a political game; we will never forget Afzal Guru,” Khuram said.

“We will be releasing CDs on the event and later on, will upload album on internet to make it globally accessible to all,” Khurram added.

The songs have been written and composed by professional and budding Kashmiri poets and singers.

Video of Haqeeqat-e-Kashmir programme which was organized by Coalition of Civil Society of Kashmir on September 7 will also be released on the same day.

“Haqeeqat-e-Kashmir” is an organization of individuals who recently took initiative to highlight the plight of Kashmir by organizing the programme with same name which was attended by huge gathering of international media and massive gathering of locals in which several cultural and musical programmes were being hosted to depict the ground situation in Kashmir.
