SRINAGAR: The Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister’s Office has raised the reported attack on a Delhi-Srinagar bus with the Haryana Government, expressing concern over the safety of passengers and seeking action in the matter.
The Haryana administration has assured prompt and stringent action in accordance with the law, the Chief Minister’s Office said in a statement.
“The J&K Government stands with the affected passengers and is closely monitoring the situation,” the statement said.
The incident came to light after a video circulated on social media purportedly showing damage to a luxury sleeper bus operated by Star World Ventures, which runs services between Delhi and Srinagar.
A social media post accompanying the footage claimed that the bus was pelted with stones near Kurukshetra in Haryana late Saturday night. It alleged that the vehicle sustained extensive damage, including shattered windows, broken tail lights and a bent number plate.
An elderly Kashmiri passenger was reportedly injured in the incident.
